Peer Review
First, the Editor performs an initial evaluation of each submitted manuscript to determine its suitability for publication in the Journal of Cognitive AI for Human Learning (JCAIHL). During this stage, the manuscript is assessed based on its relevance to the journal's focus and scope, originality, similarity score using plagiarism detection software (Crossref Similarity Check/Turnitin), methodological rigor, scientific contribution, clarity of presentation, and compliance with the journal's manuscript preparation guidelines.
Manuscripts that successfully pass the initial screening are assigned to at least three independent expert reviewers under a Single-Blind Peer Review process, in which the reviewers know the identity of the authors, while the authors remain unaware of the reviewers' identities. The reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on its originality, theoretical contribution, technical quality, validity of methodology, significance of findings, clarity of presentation, ethical considerations, and overall contribution to the advancement of Cognitive AI, artificial intelligence, cognitive science, and human learning research.
The reviewers' comments and recommendations are subsequently forwarded to the corresponding author for revision and response. Authors are expected to address each reviewer comment carefully and submit a revised manuscript together with a detailed response explaining the revisions and improvements made.
After receiving the revised submission, the editorial team evaluates the authors' responses, the quality of revisions, and the reviewers' recommendations before making the final editorial decision. When necessary, the revised manuscript may be returned to the reviewers for additional evaluation to ensure the scientific quality and validity of the published work.
The Editor then communicates the final decision to the corresponding author. Accepted manuscripts proceed through the copyediting, proofreading, and layout editing stages to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with the journal's publication standards before being prepared as the final camera-ready version for publication.
